Sameer Ayoob is a visionary leader, seasoned entrepreneur, and respected strategist with close to 30 years of experience across the logistics, freight forwarding, and tobacco industries. He is the Managing Director of SRA Shipping CC and CEO of SRA Freight & Logistics, two of South Africa’s leading companies in international shipping and freight services. In addition to his logistics ventures, Sameer is also a brand holder of Vaporverse, a modern and fast-growing vaping brand, and a partner in House of Hubbly, expanding his footprint in the lifestyle and tobacco sectors.
Sameer’s professional journey began in 1996, starting at the ground level as a driver. His determination and drive led him to Rayson Shipping (Pty) Ltd in 1997, where under the mentorship of Abdool Rasheed Ballim and Ismail Essop, he rapidly advanced into leadership roles. His time at Rayson was instrumental in sharpening his operational and management skills.
In 2008, recognizing a gap in the market and driven by an entrepreneurial vision, Sameer founded SRA Consulting, which later evolved into SRA Shipping CC by 2012. His business provided comprehensive services in freight forwarding, customs clearing, and transportation, quickly earning a strong reputation for reliability and service excellence. In 2015, Sameer further expanded by establishing SRA Freight & Logistics, positioning the company as a licensed international freight forwarder. As CEO and Operations Director, he led the company's rapid growth by building a team aligned with his values of integrity, excellence, and customer satisfaction.
In 2022, Sameer was approached by a tobacco company to consult on obtaining a license. His outstanding performance led to a formal partnership and, by 2023, a position on the board of directors. This transition marked his deeper involvement in the tobacco sector and paved the way for his launch of Vaporverse—a brand designed to meet regulatory compliance while catering to evolving consumer demands in the vaping market.
