As the Managing Director of SRA Shipping CC and CEO of SRA Freight & Logistics, he oversees two of South Africa’s leading companies in International Freight Forwarding. His portfolio also extends to being a brand holder of Vaporverse, a cutting-edge brand in the vaping sector, and a partner in House of Hubbly, where he continues to expand his reach and influence in the lifestyle and tobacco industries. Sameer’s journey in the Shipping Industry began humbly in 1996 when he started as a driver. His drive to succeed pushed him to look for opportunities that would challenge and develop his skill set. This pursuit of growth led him to Rayson Shipping (Pty) Ltd in 1997, under the guidance of Abdool Rasheed Ballim and Ismail Essop, where he started in an entry-level role but quickly moved up through the ranks.
His time at Rayson Shipping was instrumental in honing his management abilities, and by the early 2000s, Sameer had become a key figure in the company’s operations. However, despite his success, he soon realized that he had reached a ceiling and could no longer grow within the confines of his position. Recognizing the need to carve out his own path, Sameer founded SRA Consulting in 2008. The company initially focused on consulting services for the shipping and freight industry, but under Sameer’s leadership, it expanded to offer Freight Forwarding, Customs Clearing, and Transportation services.
